Established over 70 years ago as a Less than Truckload transportation company, Seward Motor Freight, Inc. original routes were between Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island and Seward, Nebraska. Today, the family-owned truckload carrier company footprint expands throughout the Midwest, South, Southeast, and East Coast. Additionally, Seward Motor Freight employs professionals that serve on the executive and finance boards of the Nebraska Trucking Association (NTA), committee members on America Trucking Association(ATA) and participate as part of Truckload Carrier Association (TCA).
The TCA provides education and training for employees of truck carrier companies, including managers, drivers, and insurance purchasers. Education provided through the Fleet Manager Certificate Program offers continuing education for professionals so that they can be highly effective leaders. A full 2 years of experience in a qualifying job function is required to earn a Certificate for Fleet Manager (CFM). Including seven sessions in total, the program starts with a course called Introduction and the Business Aspects, which provides a description of the fleet manager's role as a leader while detailing the business goals and budgets that managers are responsible for. In order to earn the CFM, candidates must purchase the class, complete the program, and score 80 percent or higher on the exam. Afterward, every 3 years, 30 CE credits must be earned to keep the CFM designation
